About me

Me

I am 26 years old, British and currently living in New Zealand. I am a self taught knitter, in April 2014 I bought my first needles,  I watched YouTube tutorials and practiced my knitting technique until I had a hat. From there I just continued to find new patterns and tutorials online and am continuing to increase my knowledge and experience.

Blog

The purpose of this blog is to share ideas, tips, patterns, projects and inspirations with other amatuer knitters. Each of my posts are titled 'beginner, intermediate or expert'. I am by no means an expert, but use this as a guide to the skill level required to complete the projects.

Patterns

I try to avoid buying patterns, to keep my hobby as inexpensive as possible, so I always search for free patterns, or get creative and try to make up or adapt patterns myself.

Yarn

I generally use acrylic yarn as this is the most inexpensive, and as I am still an amatuer knitter I am happy experimenting with a cheaper yarn.

Knit Style

I currently knit English style, which I find the easiest and most natural method, but I would love to get faster, so should really learn continental! I have tried crochet, but again, this did not come naturally to me, so that is another goal for the future.
